History
Florence is wonderfully preserved Renaissance city from the XIVth century which flourished in Europe influencing all aspects of life: science, philosophy, art, religion, politics and literature.

Art
Nearly a third of the world's art treasures reside in Florence according to UNESCO. The Galleria degli Uffizi boasts the world's largest collection of Renaissance art, largely collected by members of the Medici family from the XIVth and XVIIth centuries. Palazzo Vecchio, hosts unique masterpieces of Michelangelo, Giorgio Vasari and Donatello.

Fashion
Florence is also a significant economic center and industrial hub, especially in fashion. It is the home of Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci and Roberto Cavalli, amongst others. The area between Florence and the nearby town of Scandicci has a leading role in high-end manufacturing. Many of the worlds’ major fashion houses (Kering, LVMH, Burberry) have based the production of leather goods in this area. Up to 80% of the world’s luxury leather goods are made in Tuscany.
